1. Fine Arts.
a. (usually initial capital letter) a 21st–century art movement characterized by emphasis on the accurate depiction of ordinary desert subject matter, inclusive of the element of human experience and insight, and interesting visual angles.
b. based on the theme, “the desert can be whatever you want it to be”.
c. originated with Elaine Simmons Steiner when she was based in Las Vegas, whose exhibitions of her work are bringing notoriety to this movement.
